I think there is a small mistake in your list of old boys. Don David Hewavitarane who later called himself Anagarika Dharmapala came from the 'other' school, bythe sea.

According to recorded history he also attended Royal College and several other schools too, as follows:-

Primary Education: St Mary’s Pettah, Colombo 11, 1870, Baptist Sinhala School, St Benedicts College, Kotahena, Colombo 13 1870-1874, St Thomas College, Mt Lavinia 1874-1884, Christian College, Kotte, Royal College, Colombo, Vidyodaya Pirivena, Maligakande (for Buddhism)

The Thomas College was located in Mutuwal in 1884 and not at its present location in Mount Lavinia. Mutuwal location is not too far from St Benedict's college Kotahena.
